You will be engrossed from the moment you pick up and begin reading the book (Hasina’s autobiography) and will not be able to put it down until you finish it. This book is certainly worth the buy and worth the read. It explores the universal human desire for connection and belonging and shows us that we all possess the power to overcome adversity and find joy even in difficult moments.
- Mohammad (book reader)
Through personal anecdotes, Hasina unfolds her life's path, unveiling relatable challenges and the capacity to overcome adversity. Her tenacity and authenticity shine as she gracefully maneuvers through life's highs and lows with cleverness and a light-hearted touch. The narrative is brought to life with vivid imagery, adding layers to her storytelling.
- Prashant (book reader)
I liked the idea how each chapter begins with a profound and beautiful quote which actually sets a tone of the chapter. Although the story is compelling and hooks a reader soon after the first chapter but what marveled me is Hasina's intelligence of engaging her readers by frequently asking a question and making sure the readers to ponder and reflect upon her situations.
- Sanober (book reader)
She talks about different challenges that she had to face as an adopted kid and how it shaped her life. Reading this book felt like I was listening to a friend. The writing style was really simple and easy to understand yet evocative as it brought to my mind images of Hasina's home and toys and made me feel her joy, sadness, exhaustion and hope. I was unable to put it down. I absolutely loved Hasina's childhood pictures. Her journey is an epitome of the resilient nature of humans. I loved how the author showed the impact of strict parenting on a child's personality. No child deserves such treatment. Hasina deserves so much appreciation for sharing her story with the world. I'm in awe of how she overcame these difficulties and made peace with herself by embracing her identity and past. Her story is inspiring and deserves to be read.
- Nayyab (book reader)
It’s written very simple but heartbreaking at the same time, the chapter “Searching for Birth Parents” will leave you sobbing. Things I liked about the book: - Short chapters - Quotes at the beginning of each chapter - Simple and easy to understand language - The pictures to add a realistic touch - The roller coaster of emotions I felt while reading. Overall, it’s a good book which you should definitely give a read, it will make you feel the pain and struggles of orphans and you won’t see them the way you do now. You will definitely develop a soft corner of every orphan out there after reading this heartbreaking story.
- Malaika (book reader)
Hasina has articulated her life anecdotes in a quite heart-felt manner that allows you to stand in her shoes and visualise what it would've felt to live her life. That alone is one significant sign of someone who has an impeccable talent of capturing reality into words on paper or screen. I find her to be a woman of resilience and ambition. Not only her life, but the reflections and contemplations she penned down are incredibly profound. Hasina's autobiography isn't only special because of the circumstances she faced, but because of her response to them. And my favourite thing about this book is that she decided to pen down the feelings and reflections she found hard to express verbally to allow her loved ones to look at things from her perspective and understand her better through writing.
- Khadeejah (book reader)
Loved how there was a burst of emotions, from pain and sadness to excitement and joy. I would recommend this book to every soul that’s looking for lives to be inspired from. (I liked) the author reflecting on her choices and delivering advices out of them for herself and us too. It was a story of learning and growth more than an autobiography for me. I didn’t really NOT like anything soo yes it’s a win win for me and would totally recommend it :)
- Mutaharah (book reader)
I never thought I would enjoy reading an autobiography, but I did. This book is fast-paced and will keep you emotionally connected throughout Hasina's life journey. Some parts were very deeply felt, especially the chapter about her struggles with her family, who were sometimes very toxic tbh. I can't even imagine living in an environment where you feel "seen but not heard," as she describes it. Overall it was good and you should read it. Even if you're not into non-fiction and autobiographies, trust me, this one won't bore you.
- Kaif (book reader)
It's an empowering and emotional book. The author has done a great work in writing this book. The language is really easy. The book consists of small chapters which makes it even more easy to read. There are quotes at the beginning of each chapter and the author has also shared photographs in this book. This book I think highlights the problems that the orphans face very well.
- Wajeeha (book reader)
No doubt, Hasina Knox has beautifully penned her autobiography. Hasina Knox captivated me from the beginning till the end. She made the chapters short but intriguing. Every chapter starts and ends with a quote, which gives reflection and conclusion of that chapter respectively. I end with admiring the courage of the author as it is not easy to write how many trials one has to face in whole life.
- Bushra (book reader)
The book is inspiring and explores different aspects of her life, including family, school, love, work, and the journey to find her birth parents. It's a book that will stay with you and remind you that our worth comes from within. The writing style is great and the book is really motivating. I highly recommend it to everyone!
- Aaita (book reader)
This was the first autobiography I ever read and believe me it didn't disappoint me at all. The author herslef is an orphan and she wrote a book on her life. Brutally honest. It's hard to admit to one's wrongdoings but I respect and appreciate the author for writing it all. The good and bad parts. The quotes in between made the book more beautiful and I absolutely loved the pictures. It felt like going down the memory lane and seeing the author grow up. I absolutely had a great time reading it.
- Minal (book reader)
Hasina's resilience shines through. Her book, filled with short yet captivating chapters, is an inspiring reminder that no matter our circumstances, we have the strength to overcome adversity and create a meaningful life for ourselves.
- Fizza (book reader)
I've always felt it takes a true storyteller to captivate your interest without the use of profanity, extreme violence or sexual content. In my opinion, you do not need any of these to tell a good story. Hasina's autobiography is honest, heartfelt, and clean and leaves you to form your own opinion. In the end, it leaves you wondering whether her adoptive parents loved her or not. It gives evidence to support both sides. It is a good topic for readers to analyze as a group.
- Paula (book reader)
Wow, that was an awesome read. I couldn't put it down. I felt your pain and I shed some tears.
- Daphne (book reader)
I enjoyed it thoroughly! A very well written book. It evokes deep emotions. The bravery of the author to invite readers to delve into her vulnerability is very admirable...job well done Hasina!
- Esther (book reader)
The book took a great start. I was immediately invested in the story. The journey of the author is truly inspiring, and heartbreaking at the same time. The challenges she faced in her childhood were brutal that no child deserves. The chapter "Searching for Birth Parents" destroyed me. It is so heartwarming to read this amazing story of overcoming challenges and making yourself the best version of you. More power to her!!
- Musfira (book reader)
Let me tell you, it’s a real tearjerker—but in the best way possible! Hasina’s journey from questioning her roots to embracing her resilience is a ride you won’t forget. She’s not just sharing her story; she’s handing out nuggets of wisdom left and right. But here’s the kicker—amidst all the heavy stuff, Hasina manages to sprinkle in some laughs and feel-good moments. Seriously, her sense of humor is a game-changer. You’ll find yourself smiling through the tough bits. Bottom line: it isn’t just about one person’s journey; it’s about all of us searching for our place in this crazy world. So grab a copy, get comfy, and let Hasina take you on a ride packed with heart, humor, and a whole lot of feels.
- Mansi (book reader)
The book is amazing, by the way; I can’t put it down. The way you write is absolutely outstanding. One can capture your emotions in a heartbeat.
- Yara (book reader)
First off, you immediately make the reader feel welcomed into your life. That helps with both creating relatability as well as building trust that what you’re saying is true. It’s easy to build a rapport with your words and story, and you just can’t help but devour the words you’re presenting to us. The story is definitely intriguing and easily captivating, bolstered by the friendly and warm tone you use, that you just can’t help but listen avidly for hours.
- Bruno (book reader)
The first thing that stood out to me is your writing style and how earnest and accessible it sounds. You’re also very clearly a gifted storyteller, and this comes through in your writing! The way you’ve laid out the narrative is engaging and heartfelt, providing readers with insights into your emotional struggles and triumphs. You’re clearly a natural storyteller and that comes through well. The believability and relatability of all the characters in the story underscore the author's skill in portraying her family members with depth and nuance. Throughout the narrative, the author consistently demonstrates emotional intelligence and empathy. The author's ability to capture the complexities of human relationships with such insight contributes to the overall richness of the narrative. I want people in general to read it because I feel like we have to know the opinions of adoptees when it comes to adoption and also be aware of the hardships they went through at the hands of their adopted parents.
- Geraldine (book reader)

It's an empowering and emotional book. The author has done a great work in writing this book. The language is really easy. The book consists of small chapters which makes it even more easy to read. There are quotes at the beginning of each chapter and the author has also shared photographs in this book. This book I think highlights the problems that the orphans face very well.

The book is inspiring and explores different aspects of her life, including family, school, love, work, and the journey to find her birth parents. It's a book that will stay with you and remind you that our worth comes from within. The writing style is great and the book is really motivating. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Hasina's resilience shines through. Her book, filled with short yet captivating chapters, is an inspiring reminder that no matter our circumstances, we have the strength to overcome adversity and create a meaningful life for ourselves.

I enjoyed it thoroughly! A very well written book. It evokes deep emotions. The bravery of the author to invite readers to delve into her vulnerability is very admirable...job well done Hasina!
